This is the Month That Never Ends...Or Does It? Read On To Find Out!

Is January starting to feel like the month that will never end? Starting to feel a lot like it's Groundhog Day? Well don't worry, FSS made a few phone calls and we are making February happen! [insert happy dance here]

Unfortunately, we had to haggle and compromise so it won't actually start until Wednesday (sorry). Don't stress though because FSS has already packed some pretty awesome stuff into next week in celebration of the new month, like First Friday and the Big Game Watch Party. Come to the Tinker Club on 3 Feb 2017 starting at 4 p.m. for the most fun you will ever have on a Friday night! There's free food, drink specials, free food, a crazy CRUD tournament, and did I mention the free food? As an added bonus, America's Wing Band will be performing! This is your chance to rock your socks off to Tinker's very own. Then, take Saturday to recover from your craziness and get right back to it 5 Feb 2017 at the Tinker Club with the Big Game Watch Party! Are you a Patriot or a Falcon? Bring your team spirit as the two teams battle it out to be the best. You could also win prizes. There's also going to be this really awesome chip dip that...oh right right, the prizes. Yeah, you can win awesome prizes just for being there! How cool?! There will also be a chili contest with judging starting at 5 p.m. It may be 'chili' but the competition is sure to heat up this fun event. All of the fun and festivities will start at 3 p.m. See you all in February!

Has FSS Been 'Running' Through Your Mind?

Yes you read that pun correctly, this post is all about running (or the type of fast walk you do where you move your arms really quick to make it look like you're running)! As I mentioned in the previous post, this year is Tinker's 75th Anniversary. Did you forget again? Well don't be caught with gas station roses and a Get Well Soon card because they were out of everything else for this anniversary. Mark your calendars now! In fact, you can mark them for 8 a.m. on February 25 for Tinker's Half Marathon and 5K.

Tinker is starting the year off right with this fit and fun event. Challenge yourself or just come along to see how you do, either way it is sure to be a lot of fun. The race will begin and end at Bldg. 3001. Immediately following the race there will be an awards ceremony. Exceptional racers (or the people who moved their arms the quickest) will get awarded for all of their hard work. For those who just want to come have fun, you can still receive free goodies provided by the sponsors. Speaking of, a big thank you goes out to TFCU, Active Care, the Base Exchange, and Whole Foods for sponsoring the Half Marathon.

New Year's Resolution? More FSS of course!

And just like that the holidays are over. The Christmas lights have been taken down, the radio stations are back to normal, and people are rushing to the gym to burn off the plethora of holiday meals. Now you are back at work and it's all a little foreign. Computer? You mean the Netflix machine? Paperwork? You mean Christmas cards? Deadlines? Oh like waiting for midnight on New Year's Eve? You start to hear the Full House theme song playing in your head, "whatever happened to predictability? The milkman, the paper boy, the evening tv."But you know what "familiar friends" are "waiting just around the bend?" FSS! FSS is all new and waiting for you in 2017! There will be new vacations to take with ITT, new trips to get in on with Outdoor Rec, tournaments to play in with Tinker Lanes and Tinker Golf, and so much more. Make your new year's resolution to get involved with FSS.

Also, mark your calendars because Tinker turns 75 this year! Seventy five years of an amazing community working together to accomplish the impossible, and Tinker is partying it up all year in celebration. The fun and festivities will begin in January and February with a luncheon and a Half Marathon and will continue throughout the year with events such as the Stars & Stripes Air Show.
